August Focus

August is prime time for chasing steelies on many western rivers. The main stem of the Skeena is the epicenter for mass migration. Other places to wet your fly include the North Umpqua, the lower Deschutes, the Dean. Many other rivers will begin to see their first fish of the season. In the Great Lakes, early fall kings will start showing up in the Manistee system. Along with them will be a few rogue steelies. August is when everything starts to ramp up for the fall migration.
